David earned his BA from Northeastern and has toiled in nearly every aspect of the food business, including as a line cook in Rhode Island where he once made a steak sandwich for Lamar Odom. Right now he's likely somewhere stress-testing a blender or tinkering with a toaster. Anything with sesame is his all-time favorite food this week.

Meal kits just got more affordable thanks to these deals.

I think everyone can agree that life is getting more expensive, and grocery prices aren't immune to the increase. However, meal kit companies have so far remained on the more affordable side, especially compared to what you'd spend on takeout. And the best part is, more than a dozen services are offering massive discounts this spring.

Spring is a great time to reboot your healthy eating journey that started in January and fell off in February. You don't have to spend a fortune to haul in healthy premade meals or meal kits, especially when you pounce on a meal delivery discount. And that's where we come in. We found the top offers from services including HelloFresh, Marley Spoon, Green Chef, Factor and many more. These low-commitment offers are designed to tempt, and as someone who has tested all the meal kit services (these are the best), I say you should absolutely take the bait.

My pro tip: Sign up, snag the deal of your choice and set a reminder to pause or cancel before the full price kicks in. It's one of the easiest ways to test-drive new menus and see what fits your schedule, whether you're grilling poolside or just trying to stay out of a hot kitchen.

Dinnerly meal kit in a box

We found meal kit deals starting at under $3 per serving.

Discounts we found include deals on meal kits, prepared meal delivery services and even meat, seafood and grocery delivery. Here are the deals that can help you start saving today.

HelloFresh has more than 100 recipes to pick from each week on the standard plan with lots of substitutions and swaps available, os there's no shortage of options. And after testing the service numerous times over the years, we can say that most are rather tasty and easy to make. Plus, there's no better service for picky eaters or to accommodate niche diets such as gluten-free, dairy-free and diabetes-friendly. Read our full HelloFresh review here.

The legendary Martha Stewart collaborated on this upscale meal kit service, which is CNET's pick for best meal kit of 2026. The recipes are thoughtful, inventive and tasty, but it's one of the higher-end meal kits with a price tag to match, which is why we recommend trying it at a discount for weeks of premium meal kits on the cheap. Read our full review of Marley Spoon here.

The deal: Get $235 off, spread across your first five boxes of gourmet meal kits, and free shipping on your first box.

You won't find cheaper meal kits than those from EveryPlate. All three CNET editors who tested the service found there were plenty of satisfying dinners to choose from. I tried the pork sloppy joes and the chicken and linguine in a tomato cream sauce. All the meals we made were easy to prepare and light on the wallet. Read our EveryPlate review.

The deal: EveryPlate is already our pick for best meal kits on a budget, but its affordable meal kits are now down to $2.99 per serving when you try them for the first time. New users also get 10% off all orders during their first month.

Green Chef has some of the best healthy meal kits we've tried. It uses largely organic produce and ethically raised meats. Green Chef costs a little more per serving than other meal kits, but you'll taste it in the final dish. Read our full review of Green Chef here.

Gobble is quite similar to the other services on this list, except that many of its items come already chopped, peeled and marinated, which can save you a lot of prep time. Dinner prices are normally a flat $12 per serving, so you do pay a bit extra for that convenience, but a good starter deal helps offset the costs. For more, read our Gobble review.

This service is dynamite for plant-based eating, but it also offers some meat options. Read our full review here.

Tovala impressed us during our most recent test with fresh ingredients, tasty meals and an easy-to-use toaster oven. It can also be used as a regular toaster oven. Read our full review here.

ButcherBox is a meat subscription service specializing in Australian grass-fed beef, although you can also have heritage pork, wild salmon and organic chicken sent in your delivery, depending on the subscription you pick. I did the math, and ButcherBox's premium meat delivery is cheaper than buying similar high-end cuts at a grocery store. Read our full ButcherBox review here.

What's the best meal delivery service?

CookUnity has some of the best prepared meals of any service we tried.

Corin Cesaric/CNET

We've tried every meal kit on this list and most of the delivery services too, and they're all solid, with differences to consider depending on your budget, diet, taste and kitchen skill level. You can check out CNET's roundups of the best meal kit delivery services and the best healthy food delivery services for a more detailed taste. Remember, nearly all of these meal kit companies let you pause or cancel at any time, so the risk and commitment when signing up for a meal kit service is minimal.

Whether you're looking for ways to eat healthily, learn to cook new recipes or just make fewer trips to the grocery store this spring, a healthy, versatile and budget-friendly meal delivery deal can help you do it on the cheap.

Fresh seafood is an option with most meal kit services.

These offers were valid at the time of publication, but they can end at any time and may be restricted by geography. If you don't see a deal appear immediately, try in a new window or in a private browser. In the meantime, if you've already tried one or more of these, tell me which ones and what you liked or didn't like.

My advice: Take advantage of one of these offers and make sure to pause or cancel after, unless you want to continue. You can see which service you like best and get super cheap takeout-style meals for weeks at a time.

Is it easy to cancel a meal kit service?

I retested EveryPlate and it's still my favorite cheap meal kit service.

David Watsky/CNET

Virtually all of the services we tried allow you to pause or cancel at any time, just in case you don't love it, so there's almost no risk after the deal is up, but you may have to unsubscribe from their email blasts. Most brands just want you to try out the meals and see if you dig them, and those brands are willing to make it very easy (and cheap) to do that.
