Football season is here once again, but if your team isn't playing at home, you may have a hard time finding the games you want to watch. The solution is NFL Sunday Ticket, which offers every live, out-of-market Sunday game during the regular season.

That game-saving solution comes at a price, however: Up to $449. For a limited time new and upgrading Verizon Fios or 5G Home Internet customers can score NFL Sunday Ticket for free.

Among Verizon’s current internet deals is a free NFL Sunday Ticket subscription (a $449 value) for the 2024 season. To qualify, you must sign up for or upgrade to a Fios gigabit plan or the provider's 5G Home Plus plan.

What is NFL Sunday Ticket?

NFL Sunday Ticket, an exclusive streaming package from YouTube TV, offers every live, out-of-market NFL game, every Sunday, all regular season long. The package starts at $449 ($349 for YouTube TV subscribers) and includes unlimited in-home streams and two streams outside the home.

It’s a must-have for transplant football fans who need a reliable way to watch their team. If you’re an Eagles fan living in Sacramento, for example, NFL Sunday Ticket is the best (and possibly only) way to watch your team live each week from the comfort of your home.

The package is also ideal for general fans of the game and for keeping up with fantasy players around the league. Or if you’re like me and your team is the Panthers, NFL Sunday Ticket can give you an outlet to watch other teams compete at something that actually resembles football.

The NFL Sunday Ticket is available for a limited time to new and upgrading customers who choose a Verizon Fios gig plan -- 1Gbps starting at $90 a month or 2.3Gbps, available in select areas, starting at $110 -- or Verizon’s 5G Home Plus, starting at $70 monthly for speeds ranging from 85 to 1,000Mbps.

Customers must keep their service in good standing until Feb. 28, 2025. Otherwise, Verizon "reserves the right to charge back the value of the annual subscription.”

Also included is a free Vix Premium subscription for one year and a price guarantee of three or four years with 5G Home Plus or Fios gig service, respectively.

Lower-tiered plans, Fios 300 and 500Mbps and 5G Home Internet, don't include the NFL Sunday Ticket subscription, but the Vix Premium subscription and a two- or three-year price guarantee are available.

Do I need a YouTube TV subscription for NFL Sunday Ticket?

No. You will need a Google account, but a subscription to YouTube TV isn't required to get NFL Sunday Ticket. The subscription is cheaper for YouTube TV subscribers, $349 compared with $449, but that doesn’t matter if you’re getting it for free from Verizon anyway.

You will also need a streaming device or smart TV with the YouTube app installed, plus an internet connection with download speeds of at least 13Mbps to reliably stream NFL Sunday Ticket in HD. Aside from that, snacks, beverages and your lucky jersey are all you’ll need.

What if I don’t want NFL Sunday Ticket?

Verizon often gives you the choice of two or more promo offers, and that’s the case with its current deal. For those who don’t want NFL Sunday Ticket, Verizon is offering $400 toward a minimum purchase of $798 on Samsung appliances at The Home Depot.

To qualify, new or upgrading customers must sign up for a Fios gig plan or 5G Home Plus by Sept. 11, 2024, and keep their service in good standing for 180 days.

If neither of those deals, an NFL Sunday Ticket subscription or the $400 Samsung appliance credit, excite you, check back in a month or so. Verizon changes its promotional offers frequently, and the next one is sure to be quite a deal if they aim to top a free NFL Sunday Ticket subscription.
