If you've been wanting the brand-new Samsung Galaxy S26, but don't want to spend a fortune, you might want to consider the previous-gen Galaxy S25. Multiple retailers and carriers are also offering discounts on the year-older models as they make way for the new devices. Depending on where you shop, you might even be able to nab a Galaxy S25 for free.

T-Mobile is one of the best options, offering up to $800 off the S25 series, meaning you can get the base model for free. If you're considering a different S25 model and Xfinity Mobile works for you, you can get up to $1,100 off there with an eligible trade-in, meaning the mid-range Galaxy S25 Plus can be had for free and the top-tier Galaxy S25 Ultra costs under $3 a month.

CNET's mobile experts have documented the many reasons why Samsung's Galaxy S25 phones remain some of the best Androids available. In fact, our phone testing team declared that the base Galaxy S26 was "difficult to recommend" over the year-old Galaxy S25 due to a lack of hardware upgrades and the newer model's $100 price hike.

Samsung phones aren't known for being cheap, the breadth of the S25 range -- from the more affordable FE to the feature-packed Ultra -- means there's something for most budgets, especially when deals are in play. We're tracking the best direct discounts, trade-in bonuses and carrier offers in one place to make comparison easier. Since these promos tend to change quickly, we'll keep this guide updated so you can lock in the right deal when you're ready.

How much does the Galaxy S25 lineup cost?

The five Galaxy S25 models are available in various storage configurations. Original starting prices for each model are as follows:

  • Samsung Galaxy S25 FE: $650
  • Samsung Galaxy S25: $800
  • Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus: $1,000
  • Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: $1,100
  • Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: $1,300

In terms of configuration upgrades, the base S25 RAM is increasing from the 8GB of its predecessor to 12GB of RAM, which means that all phones (except the S25 FE) start at 12GB of RAM. The regular S25 comes with either 128GB or 256GB of storage, while the S25 Plus and S25 Edge come with either 256GB or 512GB of storage. The S25 Ultra is available with 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of storage.

The more affordable Galaxy S25 FE is also available with either 128GB or 256GB of storage, but both configurations have only 8GB of RAM.

Which colors does the Galaxy S25 lineup come in?

The Galaxy S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra come in navy, icy blue, mint and silver shadow, as well as the online-exclusive colors blue-black, coral-red and pink-gold. The new Galaxy S25 Edge is available only in jet-black, icy blue and silver, while the Galaxy S25 FE comes in icy blue, jet-black, navy or white.

Should I buy the Galaxy S25 from a retailer or a carrier?

This depends on what you're looking for. If you buy the phone from a retailer, the phone will probably be unlocked, meaning you can use it with any carrier. If you've been thinking about changing your phone plan sometime soon, this is a great way to get your hands on the new phone without committing to a carrier long term.

However, if you already have a carrier plan, you might be eligible for offers on the S25 if you choose to add a line or trade in another phone. If you're planning on staying with your current phone plan, it's worth seeing what your carrier is offering.
