2016 Volkswagen Jetta is simple, understated (pictures)

The 2016 Volkswagen Jetta SE is available with a 1.4-, 1.8-, or 2.0-liter turbo engine or as a hybrid.

While there is not an overabundance of features by any means, the Jetta does offer push-button start as standard, as well as a backup camera and cruise control.

The 1.4-liter gasoline-burning engine is good for 150 horsepower and 184 pound/feet of torque.

The side mirrors are heated and foldable, for those times when you have to park on a narrow street.

The SE trim line comes with 16-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires.

Halogen headlamps with daytime running lights are both standard.

The Jetta does an excellent job of utilizing interior space, with one of the largest back seats in the segment and a very roomy trunk.

At 15.7 cubic feet of space, the Jetta's trunk can easily haul your gear as you zip around town.

Sirius satellite radio with a limited subscription is standard. The Jetta also has a CD player and iPod connectivity so you'll never be without your tunes.

Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link are all standard on the Jetta.

Front seats are heated, which is a nice touch at this price, but you'll have to adjust them manually.

A multifunctional steering wheel gives you easy control to your stereo, phone and cruise control.

A simple layout in the gauge cluster makes for easy to read performance information.

While a 5-inch color touchscreen is standard, our test model came with the larger 6.3-inch screen.

A six-speed automatic transmission is available at no extra charge, although a five-speed manual is standard.
