2019 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is still a performance bargain

The 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray starts at $56,995, including $1,095 for destination.

The Stingray is powered by a 6.2-liter LT1 V8 that produces 460 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque to move (or torture) the rear tires.

The stomping V8 engine can be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission or a seven-speed manual.

According to EPA estimates, the Corvette gets 16/25 city/highway mpg with the manual.

Automatic-equipped Corvettes get 15/25 city/highway mpg.

An 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto comes standard.

So does 4G LTE Wi-Fi, satellite radio and a nine-speaker Bose premium audio system.

Despite offering plenty of cabin tech, the Corvette offers no advanced driver-assistance systems.

The Corvette Stingray convertible's 10 cubic feet of trunk space is good for a sports car, but the coupe's 15 cubic feet is comparable with midsize sedans.
