2019 Jaguar XJR575: A surprising performance value

Jaguar originally launched the current-generation XJ back in 2009. To help draw some attention to the aging model, they introduced a more potent XJR575 model.

The XJR575 replaces the the XJR in the lineup. The 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine sees output climb from 550 horsepower to 575 horsepower in the model model. Torque also increase from 500 pound-feet to 517. 

Jaguar says the XJR575 can hit 60 mph in 4.2 seconds, which betters the old XJR's 4.4 second time.

The only trim level in the XJ range available with the velocity blue paint job is the XJR575. The premium hue tacks on $4,080 to the price tag.

Jaguar says the XJR575 can reach a top speed of 186 mph.

Gloss black for the grille, front lip, air intakes and 20-inch wheels further dress the XJR575. 

To improve handling, the revised suspension gets firmer springs, revised adaptive damper tuning and rides on 20-inch Pirelli P Zero tires.

Special touches in the cabin of the XJR575 included leather seats with quilted inserts, black suede headliner and a lot of 575 logos on the scuff plates, dash and seatbacks.

The 2019 Jaguar XJR575 begins at $123,395, which includes $995 for destination.
