2019 Subaru Forester Touring: Granola never looked so good

The new-generation Subaru Forester doesn't stray too far from the functional aesthetic of the previous models, but it's loaded up with new tech and more premium cabin quality.

The upright design affords really good visibility of the road ahead and creates a bright, airy feel in the cabin.

Though it appear larger, the 2019 Forester grows less than an inch from nose to tail and retains the same height and width.

Stronger horizontal elements in the SUV's design create the illusion of width.

This new generation makes Subaru's EyeSight camera system standard equipment, bringing with it standard adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. 

Subaru's global platform underpins the 2019 Forester, which shares its 2.5-liter engine and all-wheel drive powertrain with Subie's Impreza and Crosstrek.

Higher trim levels feature Subaru's X-Mode system with special traction programs for dirt, snow and mud.

The StarLink Plus infotainment system features a large 8-inch display, an intuitive menu system and, perhaps most importantly, standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

One of the most unique features the 2019 Forester debuts is the camera-based DriverFocus attention monitoring system that uses facial recognition to determine if the driver is distracted, dozing or incapacitated.
