Honda deprives the US of the second-gen Integra Type R

The third-generation did make it to the US as the Acura RSX, but the high-performance Type R model didn't. Sadly, the Type R was only sold in Japan.

The venerable B-Series four-cylinder was replaced with a new 2.0-liter K-Series engine, making 217 horsepower.

On the transmission front, the five-speed manual was replaced with a six-speed unit.

Other performance goodies included a limited-slip differential and front Brembo brakes.

Compared to other models in the lineup, the Type R featured additional body reinforcements and a firmer suspension setup.

Special Type R exterior touches include a front lip spoiler, side sills and tall rear wing.

Besides Championship White, this generation of the Integra Type R also came in blue.

Dressing the interior again were Recaro sport seats and a Momo steering wheel.
