Yes, really. One of the hottest concepts in Frankfurt is a Kia

Tucked into a corner in the far reaches of the Frankfurt Motor Show is one of the most gorgeous rides to debut this year.

The Kia Proceed concept is a low-slung sports wagon with a design inspired by the recent Stinger GT sport sedan.

The roof line flows smoothly from the elongated hood to a rounded hatchback rear end.

Inside is a cockpit that Kia says is inspired by haute couture fashion and style. Much of the cabin is covered in the same lava red paint as the body.

Kia calls the Proceed an extended hot hatchback, which makes it sound like it's just trying to avoid calling it a wagon. I don't know why; wagons are cool.

The roofline is echoed by an illuminated window frame. It's actually one of the most bold elements of the design.

A "shark line" C-pillar is wider than the rest and visually stops short of the roof. Kia says this emphasizes the lack of a B-pillar.

The front overhang is surprisingly short and the wheel arches reach nearly up onto the hood.

One of the most interesting features is what Kia calls a Memory Bank: a trio of scents that can be released into the cabin to trigger car-related memories.

Scents include aged leather, an oily garage and racing fuel. This concept almost certainly looks better than it smells.
