Maserati's GranTurismo Convertible Sport cuts a striking profile (pictures)

This is it -- the 2015 Maserati GranTurismo Convertible Sport.

It is, as the name implies, more powerful drop-top version of the normal GranTurismo Coupe.

And it is a lovely thing to behold. The nose and hood on the Sport are particularly visually striking.

But drop the top, and it gets even more attractive.

The long nose hides a 4.7-liter V-8 that is sourced from Ferrari, putting down 460 horsepower and 384 foot-pounds of torque.

Twenty-inch wheels are available in a variety of styles.

The optional matte-black wheels sport a cheeky integrated trident, the company's logo.

Though it's found more prominently on the grille.

The rear of the car is understated, but the song coming out of those exhausts is not.

This is the engine, rather sadly looking like it's to be swallowed by a field of black plastic.

The motor is made in partnership with Ferrari.

The car offers seating for four, and you can just about put a full-size human in the back.

The interior is a mixture of lovely materials, clunky switchgear and dated technology.

The infotainment system is a real blast from the past.

The automatic transmission is not to be rushed.

These indicator stalks look straight from a Dodge Caravan, and those shift paddles sadly knock your knuckles with every use.

Regardless of all that, it is certainly a great-looking car.
