RealTime Racing to take Acura TLX racer to Pikes Peak Hill Climb

Wisconsin-based motorsport team RealTime Racing's Acura TLX race car is coming out of retirement -- to tackle the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

Two of the RealTime Acura TLX-GT's World Challenge wins came at the double-header weekend at Road America in 2016.

RealTime Racing retired the TLX-GTs from World Challenge competition at the end of the 2016 season.

RealTime replaced the TLX-GTs with the NSX GT3 racers for the 2017 season.

Following a brief retirement, RealTime is modifying one of the TLX-GTs to take on the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in June.

RealTime Racing principle Peter Cunningham will pilot the No. 42 Pikes Peak Acura TLX up the mountain.

Highlighting the mechanical changes to the TLX is the return of all-wheel drive after it was dropped for the 2016 World Challenge season.

RealTime is performing modifications to drivetrain, suspension and aerodynamics of the TLX to tackle Pikes Peak.

The RealTime Racing Pikes Peak TLX will compete in the Pikes Peak Open class at the event.

The Pikes Peak TLX is one of nine entries in its class that includes Chevrolet Camaros both new and old, a Chevrolet SS, a Ford Mustang, some Porsches and a 1989 Nissan Skyline.
